Intellectual Property Rights

All submissions remain the intellectual property of the individuals or organizations that developed them.

Protection of Intellectual Property

By submitting an application, you represent and warrant the following: you will not submit content that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the content; and the content submitted by you does not contain any viruses, Trojan horses, worms or other disabling devices or harmful code.


Participant represents and warrants that he or she is the sole author and copyright owner of the Submission, and that the Submission is an original work of the Participant, or if the Submission is a work based on an existing application, that the Participant has acquired sufficient rights to use and to authorize others; and that the Submission does not infringe upon any copyright or upon any other third party rights of which the Participant is aware, and that the Submission is free of malware.


VersusVirus organizers have the right at their sole discretion to determine whether an entrant is eligible for the Contest. VersusVirus may disqualify, at organizers’ sole discretion, VersusVirus entries (including, without limitation, content submitted in connection therewith) that:

(a) are in violation of third party rights or law or regulation,

(b) use inappropriate or explicit language or images, or display content that VersusVirus or Sponsors otherwise finds objectionable.

GDPR - personal data protection

Participation in the Hackathon requires collection of Participant's personal data (hereinafter referred to as Personal Data).

Personal Data will be managed according to the regulations of personal data protection (The EU 2016/679 General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR or the Personal Data Protection Act, known as the PDPA).

By registering to the Hackathon, Participant agrees that his/her Personal Data may be stored and used by the Organizer for the purposes of organization and carrying out the Hackathon. This consent can be revoked at any time whereupon the registration to the Hackathon will be automatically cancelled.

Organizer is the Data Controller (as per GDPR definition). Organizer can engage a third party as a provider of other services. In that case, the service provided for processing your Personal Data is guaranteed and the Organizer will arrange all legal work with a third party in accordance with the regulations regulating personal data protection.

Personal Data will be used for the following purposes:

the Hackathon organization, marketing and advertising purposes.

Personal Data will be stored according to legally defined time-span. The Organizer undertakes to implement organizational and technical security measures in order to protect Personal Data; the Organizer undertakes these measures to allow the exercise of Participants’ rights pursuant to the GDPR and/or the PDPA. Participant has the right to request modification or deletion of his/her Personal Data via e-mail address [email protected]
